Overview

Michele Lichtenstein completed his bachelor's degree in German and French at Humboldt University in Berlin with a thesis on representations of same-sex desire in texts by Ingeborg Bachmann and is now studying for a master's degree in European Literatures. 

As an exchange student at Cornell, Michele is looking forward to exploring German and American theories and writing his thesis.

In his master's thesis, he would like to explore autobiographical abortion narratives in German-language and Scandinavian literatures. 

His main interests are comparative literature, literatures from the 18th century to the present with a focus on feminist and queer studies.
