German Studies professor awarded CIVIC fellowship to explore “Critical Media Practice”

Erik Born has been awarded a two-year research fellowship to participate in a group of Cornell scholars working on “Critical Media Practice.” As part of the Provost's Initiative for Critical Inquiry into Values, Imagination and Culture (CIVIC), the multi-disciplinary group will explore how critical media practice can advance, diversify, and amplify established practices of media critique. Planned events will include exhibitions, workshops, maker spaces, and digital offerings. Erik’s individual project will make a case for “vernacular media theory.” Look for further details in an article appearing soon in the Cornell Chronicle.
